Military Community at Work - Unlocking the Potential of the Military Community

SHRM Foundation’s goal through our Military Community at Work initiative is to build awareness, inform and shape the recruitment, hiring, and retention practices of workplaces as it relates to the military community.

The presentation today is aimed at supporting your interest and efforts in unlocking the potential of this talent pool and understanding Best Practices & HR Strategies for sustaining military hiring programs.

The military community is a rich source of untapped talent for the intense labor shortages and ongoing upheaval and transition occurring in workplaces.

The Military Community Ambassadors Program is designed to be a force multiplier to increase the knowledge and expertise of HR professionals, people managers and business leaders to support stronger military community hiring and workplaces.

Presented by SNVSHRM's own Dewey Goering - Military Community Ambassador - SHRM Foundation
Military Community at Work Ambassador, through the SHRM Foundation.
Having spent 20 years in the military from the age of 18, retiring, then transitioning to a new role in civilian life, Dewey knows full well the challenges members of the military community face when making that change.

During this time, Dewey has been involved with SHRM at the local chapter level as well as state council level positions.
Dewey has also served on the board of several non-profit organizations, including Big Brothers Big Sisters, Casa-Can, Voices of Hope, and SHRM.
